Our theme for the first half-term has been ‘All About Me’, and we have been getting to know the children very well! We have drawn pictures of who lives with us in our home, looked at our faces in the mirror to make self-portraits and created our family trees from photos.

As we like to get out & about whenever possible, between the rainy showers, we have made two trips around the Children’s Book Trail (a part of the Ilkley Literature Festival) and a walk up to the Millennium Gardens.

The children have enjoyed making lots of delicious food in the first half-term, including trying peach juice from a Roald Dahl Revolting Recipe, jam thumb print biscuits, pizzas and fruity flapjack!

We have also celebrated the children’s author, Roald Dahl’s, birthday, ‘Talk like a Pirate day’ and ‘No Pen Day’ with fun related activities.

As well as all that, the children have enjoyed their usual free-play activities including learning new songs, pretending to be different animals outside in the garden, making collages of their favourite foods and learning how to brush their teeth properly! Phew!
