Children In Need

We’d like to say a BIG THANK-YOU to our parents and carers who made lots of yummy buns and came to our Children In Need bake sale last Wednesday. Our children had a special treat of eating a spotty bun at snack time and we sold the rest of the buns at pick-up. We raised a fantastic £60.55 for this great cause. Many thanks!

Party On!

Summer Garden Party – Saturday 2^nd July 2.00 – 4.00pm

Thank-you to everyone for coming to, and also helping out at, our annual Summer Garden Party on Saturday. Although the weather hasn’t been particularly ‘summery’ so far, we enjoyed a day of good weather and lots of play.

Our most popular event, which has become a firm fixture in the pre-school calendar, was very well attended. There were garden games, fantastic face painting, bun decorating, raffle and prizes. Although this wasn’t primarily a fundraising event we still managed to raise over £100 from our very generous families attending on the day!

For some parents it was their first time in our lovely garden and many commented on what a great space it was for the children to be able to play in. We think so too!

We would also like to give a big ‘thank-you!’ to our friends at Ilkley Moor Vaults for providing us with a voucher as one of our raffle prizes.

Night Out: Sun 6th Dec 8pm

We’d like to have a Christmas social for parents & any other friends you’d like to bring along. We thought to save us the expense of arranging a quiz night, why not go to one already held by a pub? The Wheatley Arms in Ben Rhydding has one each Sunday at 8pm. On their website it says it’s only £1, which includes a free supper – sounds a good deal! If you fancy coming along, please email to let us know.

Pre-school Nativity & Party

This year’s pre-school Christmas party and Nativity play will be on Thursday 17th December. All pre-school children are invited to our Christmas party to arrive at the normal time of 9am. Parents, carers, friends and family are all invited to join us at 1.30pm for the Nativity play. A list will be posted, nearer the time, in the foyer for party food contributions. If we are all especially good, there may even be a special visitor popping by….!

Juice Morning: Fri 27th Nov

Please join us on Friday 27th November from 9.15am – 10.30am. Come along to chat and meet with other parents and carers over a juice and a biscuit, and see your child at play. It is also a good opportunity to take a look at your child’s Learning Journal and chat to staff about their progress. Any donations of buns or cakes will be gladly received!

Alien Invasion!

Throughout this half-term we have been making our Alien costumes and UFO props for the Ilkley May Day Carnival. Lots of mummies came in to pre-school to help us. And it paid off as our Carnival parade entry on Monday 4th May looked amazing! Many thanks to everyone for putting in a huge amount of time and effort to make it a wonderful day. The space ship was brilliant and truly out-of-this world! I don’t know what happened to the alien inside it though….

Open Day – Thursday 14th May 9.30am-2.30pm

Calling all potential pre-schoolers! We are holding an Opening Day on Thursday 14th May 9.30am – 2.30pm. Please come along to take a look around our premises and wonderful outdoor space. There will be free activities for the children with coffee and cakes for the adults! All current parents and carers are also invited. Please spread the word!
