At Ilkley Pre-school we love to go out on Explorer Walks around Ilkley and out and about in the local community, as often as possible. Last week, we made one of our regular trips to Ilkley Library.
This year we have been on numerous Explorer Walks to:
- Ilkley Tarn – to feed the ducks some frozen peas!
- Millennium Gardens – to play on the paved maze,
- Ilkley Town Centre – for the Literature Festival’s Book Trail,
- Darwin Gardens – to hunt for conkers,
- Ilkley War Memorial – on Armistice Day,
- Residential homes – to visit the elderly at Christmas,
- King’s Hall Theatre – to see ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’.
In the past we have also been to:
- Watch the Pancakes Races on The Grove,
- Christ Church café for a juice and a biscuit. (We were very well behaved.)
- Ilkley Moor to release our tadpoles back into the wild at the Tarn,
- Tesco Supermarket for a ‘Farm to Fork’ trail,
- Through the wood to see the ancient cup and ring Panorama Stones,
- Ilkley town for an Environmental Print walk and spotted all the different types of signs and signage.
- Guiseley and back on the train from Ilkley station.
