Our theme for this last half-term has been ‘Celebrations’ and we have been learning about the many different celebrations there are at this time of the year. We drew firework pictures with chalk for Bonfire Night, made coconut sweets and handprint elephants for Diwali and clay Loch Ness monsters for St Andrew’s Day.
Our walk this half-term was to the Memorial Gardens, at the end of The Grove in Ilkley, for Remembrance Day. We took a look at the Poppy Wreaths and even managed to observe a minutes silence!
We’re sure your shelves and walls are jam packed after this half-term! The children have enjoyed making a large amount of varied crafts including: tissue paper poppies, ‘Thank-you’ cards and clay tea-light pots.
We have also participated in this year’s Bradford Libraries Rhyme Challenge. The children have learnt a new song each week and we hope you enjoyed listening to their performance at the Nativity!
And, of course, the children have enjoyed their usual free-play activities including getting some fresh air in the garden each day and learning to take turns at the computer!
